I believe you should race on. You are still at the top of your game, regardless of some lapses in concentration that you have had recently. The right driver, with the proper team, car and package...you are still unbeatable. Monaco, and the crashes into Hill and Villeneuve, may tranish your reputation, but these incidents pale in comparison to what you have achieved over a 15 year career. Even Senna crashed into other drivers under the guise of competition. In F1, you are the best ever and due to your tremendous competitive nature, you do whatever it takes to win. Granted, you came into F1 in an era where technology has indeed given you an upper hand, but so have your competitors. The numbers truly speak for themselves. No other champion comes anywhere near your number of victories. You have not only re-written the recordbooks, but you have obliterated them. It is a tremendous pleasure to watch you race and compete. I read in F1 magazine that your goals were 100 victories and 10 championships. If the desire is there, race on!!! Forza, Michael!

Michael, please stay for one more year, this year has been very exciting and enjoyable, seeing you fight against the young guns, is great. You have achieved so much and can go on to achieve more, if you still have the passion for it. I have been your fan since 1993, never thought about watching F1 racing until you made your debut, I knew there was something about you, a champion all the way. F1 will not be the same without you, yes, there are a few drivers, which are capable of winning and racing, but it will be difficult to replace you. You will always be remembered.

I'll be glad to see the back of a very overrated and rather dishonest driver.

Yes He's broken every record, but there wasn't all that much competition.
He had at least equal, often the best car for many years, and he never raced seriously against anyone of the stature of Jim Clark, Ayrton Senna or Alain Prost. When a really quick driver like Hakkinen had a decent car Schumi was usually second-best. Without the 'I'm the boss' clauses in his contract he would have been vulnerable to the sort of inter-team pressure faced by all his opponents, and Ferrai would have had to develop a car for two instead of just one 'Schumi special'.

MS has been on the recieving-end of an unparalleled dominance by Bridgestone / Ferrari of F1, this dominance has been aided and abetted by the FIA (mainly Max Mosely) which has laid about other teams for their 'transgre4ssions' but nodded Ferrari through unopposed.

Finally nobody who has cheated as blatantly as this man can ever be a 'great' sportsman. Its not a 'competitive spirit' its CHEATING to knock your opponents off the track. Don't quote Senna, he was blatant and admitted his guilt MS still denies his...

Thank you for all your kind messages of support for myself. I am totally under-whelmed quite honestly for all this kindness.

I will be talking to the press after the race which I am expecting to win this weekend, when I can say about my decision. But to be honest I am thinking I am in a tricky position to be continuing next year. I would not want to be racing with the small finnish one in the team, because I have nothing to prove, and as my team mate at the moment is looking for victories more frequently I find that we are not able to get on as friends as much as previously.

The only reason I watch F1 is because of Michael. Once he goes it won't be worth watching. In my view there still isn't anyone that has surpassed his brilliance. As a kid I still remember some of his absolutely mesmeric races, Spain96, Spa 97 etc. SCHUMI PLEASE STAY & SHOW YOUR STILL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!
